Viewing and editing the connectivity settings

After the Meridian Enterprise Server configuration database connection has been created, it can be viewed or changed as described in the following task. For the highest performance in large scale environments, multiple Meridian Enterprise Server servers can be deployed and configured in a cluster with one server acting as the primary server.

To view or edit the connectivity settings:

  1. In Meridian Enterprise Server Configurator, in the System Management group, click Settings. The Application Settings page appears.
  2. In the menu, click SYSTEM SETTINGS. The System Settings page appears and shows the current server configuration.
  3. Click options or type values using the descriptions in the following table.

CONFIGURATION DATABASE group

Connection string

To select a different configuration database or to create a new one:

  1. Click CHANGE. A confirmation dialog box appears.
  2. Click YES. The Configuration Database page appears.
  3. Click options or type values using the descriptions in the table in Creating the configuration database.
SERVER (PRIMARY) group

Server Name

To connect Meridian Enterprise Server Configurator to a different server:

  1. Click CHANGE. A confirmation dialog box appears.
  2. Click YES. The Server configuration page appears.
  3. Click options or type values using the descriptions in the following table.
Server configuration options
Option Description

Computer

Type the Meridian Enterprise Server server name, for example, MyServer.

Port

Type the port number that Meridian Enterprise Server is configured for. The default is 8686.

UPN

Type the User Principle Name with which to connect to the server, for example, MyServer\Administrator.

  1. In the app bar, click CONNECT. A confirmation dialog box appears.
  2. Click OK. Meridian Enterprise Server Configurator reloads connected to the specified server.

To join another Meridian Enterprise Server server with the current server in a cluster:

  1. Click ADD NODE. The REGISTER NODE dialog box appears.
  2. Click options or type values using the descriptions in the preceding table.
  3. Click REGISTER. The name of the server is added to the node list. The new node can now be selected for publishing jobs as decribed in Configuring a publishing job.
